Additional charges were filed Monday against a former State College Area High School teacher accused of soliciting students for explicit pictures in exchange for better grades.
Wesley Amy, 27, of Bellefonte, faces two new charges of child sex abuse and unlawful contact with minors, both felonies. The counts stem from the time he was employed by the district, according to the criminal complaint.
Amy is suspected by State College police of asking a minor for nude photos both in person and on Facebook in exchange for a higher grade, according to court documents.
Amy was employed by the district for seven months, from fall 2013 until spring 2014, and taught computer courses. He is no longer employed by the district. His resignation was accepted by the school board in June and was effective in May, according to board meeting minutes.
