Motorcycle driver flees after police chase in Philipsburg

Police are looking for a man who led them on a chase in Philipsburg last week.

Police said they tried to stop a white off-road motorcycle that was traveling east on the sidewalk of the 1000 block of East Presqueisle Street shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday.

The driver sped up as he fled onto Railroad Street and then Loch Lomond Road, police said. The chase continued onto Coaldale and Casanova roads before police ended their pursuit. The driver continued on the rail trail along Black Bear Creek, police said.

The driver is described as a white man wearing a blue, full-faced helmet, a dark long-sleeved shirt, jeans and a green backpack.
