Centre Hall man jailed, accused of head-butting pregnant woman

A Centre Hall man is accused of threatening and head-butting a pregnant woman.

Marcus Port, 28, of Centre Hall, was arrested by State College police Sunday on charges of making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. Officers were called to a home early that morning. A pregnant woman there reported that Port started a fight with her, screamed at her, threatened her and the unborn child, and eventually grabbed her by the head and head-butted her “three or four times,” according to the criminal complaint.

Court documents indicate that Port has a prior record for assault. Port pleaded guilty to simple assault charges in 2007 and was sentenced to probation, according to court documents.

Port was arraigned before District Judge Carmine Prestia Sunday afternoon, and bail was set at $75,000.

An attorney for Port was not listed on court documents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 3.
