Man accused of stalking State College woman

A Schuylkill County man is in Centre County Correctional Facility, accused of stalking a State College woman.

Edwin Gegenheimer, 38, of Pine Grove, faces charges of stalking and harassment after the woman reported to State College police several times that Gegenheimer called or texted her on several occasions after she told him to stop.

Her phone indicated that Gegenheimer texted the woman 219 times from April 11 to 27 and 61 times from April 27 to 30, according to the criminal complaint. She also reported that he left 18 voice mails from May 12 to 14 and told her he monitored her on Facebook and Pinterest, according to police.

Police also said that Gegenheimer called them in April requesting a welfare check of the woman and “appeared to be using the police in locating her,” according to court documents.

Gegenheimer was arraigned before District Judge Steven Lachman, who set bail at $75,000, on May 20.

Richard Settgast, Gegenheimer’s public defender, did not return a call for comment Tuesday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
