Boggs Township man pleads guilty to indecent assault

A two-day trial before President Judge Thomas King Kistler scheduled for this week is off because of a plea entered late last week.

On Friday, Brandon Wesneski, 24, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault of an unconscious person, according to the Centre County District Attorney’s Office.

The charge stemmed from an incident in March 2014 in which Wesneski was accused of performing sex acts on a male friend after the man had fallen asleep after a night of drinking at Wesneski’s Boggs Township residence, according to state police investigators.

Charges were filed against Wesneski in August. Prosecutors chose not to pursue felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and sexual assault charges and another misdemeanor indecent assault charge after the plea Friday.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 17, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The trial was set to begin 8:30 a.m. Monday. Assistant District Attorney Lindsay Foster was to prosecute the case. Wesneski is represented by attorney Kyle Rude, of Williamsport.
