An Altoona man who pleaded guilty earlier this year to multiple theft and conspiracy charges in relation to a series of reported package thefts will see time in prison.
Judge Jonathan D. Grine on Monday sentenced John Ball, 27, to 111/2 to 23 months in the Centre County Correctional Facility, followed by five years of probation. Patton Township police arrested Ball and Christopher Shutt, 37, also of Altoona, after a traffic stop last November when property believed to have been taken from porches around the Centre Region was observed in their vehicle.
Shutt pleaded guilty to similar charges in March and was sentenced by Judge Pamela A. Ruest to 21/2 to 12 years in state prison. He is serving that sentence at Camp Hill state prison near Harrisburg.
