Penn State police launched an investigation into an alleged attempted assault early Friday morning.
The incident was reported to university police at 1:16 a.m. Friday, 15 minutes after it occurred at the intersection of Curtin and and Burrowes roads near the Nittany Lion Shrine.
The alleged victim told police an unknown white man in his 30s grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her into the wooded area behind the Lion Shrine.
University police immediately searched the area, according to a news release, but did not find anyone.
