Female Penn State student reports sexual assault in Simmons Hall

Penn State police are investigating a report of sexual assault that allegedly occurred at about 3:40 a.m. Friday on the ground floor of Simmons Hall.

According to a Penn State news release, a female student told police that an unknown man had reached under her skirt and touched her inappropriately.

The suspect then allegedly fled the area and was last seen running east of Mifflin Hall.

Police searched the area and were unable to find the man, who is described as a white male in his late teens to mid-20s with short, dark brown hair, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 and 130 to 160 pounds, the release said.

Police said he was wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt with a design on the front.
