Huntingdon man accused of child sex assaults

A Huntingdon County man is under investigation for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple children, all girls between nine and 13 years old, according to a state police press release.

State police at Huntingdon executed a search warrant at 55-year-old Jay Eugene Reed’s Three Springs residence July 9 and seized a computer, multiple cell phones, cameras, a wireless router and security digital cards.

Reed is suspected of raping a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault from October 2013 to July 9, 2015, the release said. He was taken into custody at his workplace. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing and is being held at the Huntingdon County Prison.

Two additional alleged victims were interviewed July 14. They told police they were sexually assaulted by Reed multiple times in different locations in Clay Township in Huntingdon County. A criminal complaint was submitted to district court Thursday as a result of the interviews.

A preliminary arraignment was held and bail was set in the new case for $500,000.
