A State College man convicted of assaulting and trying to rob a woman in downtown State College last fall was sentenced Tuesday morning.
Clinton County Senior Judge J. Michael Williamson sentenced Gabriel Shull, 18, to 29 to 59 months in Centre County Correctional Facility.
State College police arrested Shull in the early morning hours of Oct. 13 after officer responded to a screaming woman on South Burrowes Street. The woman testified at Shull’s trial that he had asked for money and when she refused, Shull grabbed her arm and purse. She eventually fell to the ground and Shull dragged her by the hair before she screamed and Shull fled.
Shull had a BB gun that looked like an actual handgun during the robbery, police said.
