Alcohol may have contributed to weekend crash

Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in a two-vehicle crash this past weekend in State College.

According to police, a car driven by Amber Czekai, 35, of Emporium, was struck from behind at 7:25 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of South Atherton Street and Westerly Parkway. Czekai said she was fully stopped behind three cars at a red light when she was hit.

Police said they administered a field sobriety test to the driver of the second vehicle, Marjann Young, 54, of Middletown, and arrested her for DUI. She was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for a blood alcohol content test. Charges are pending the results of the test.
