Police investigating theft from State College liquor store

State College police are investigating a liquor theft from the Wine and Spirits store at 230 W. Hamilton Ave.

According to police, the male suspect entered the store at about 10 a.m. Thursday, grabbed a bottle of Captain Morgan’s Rum and ran out the exit door. The suspect ran east across Fraser Street and entered a tan SUV with black trim parked on Irvin Avenue.

A witness reported a partial license plate starting with the letters “JNG,” police said.

The suspect is described as a white man, police said, possibly high school- or college-aged. He was described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with dark brown hair and a blue bandanna on his head. He was wearing a blue flannel shirt with a yellow shirt underneath and blue jeans.
