Hearing continued for man charged with stalking, harassment

Editor’s note: The original version of this story had Williams’ case waived rather than continued.

A preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday was continued in a stalking case.

John Williams, 52, of Bellefonte, is charged with stalking his former girlfriend, unlawfully disseminating intimate photos of her and harrassment.

The woman who Williams allegedly harassed filed a complaint against Williams on Sept. 23. The woman told police that she had received “unwanted text messages” from Williams. She told police that she had dated Williams in August but decided that she “no longer wanted to see” him.

According to court documents, Williams is also accused of harassing the woman and her friends via social media and posting nude pictures of her in her apartment building hallway.

Court records show the case is now scheduled for preliminary hearing on Jan. 6.

Williams remains free on his own recognizance.
