Penn State police investigate ethnic intimidation incident

An ethnic intimidation incident is prompting Penn State police to investigate.

According to university police, sometime between 1:55 and 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, a piece of paper with “obscene and offensive language” was taped to a student’s door on the second floor of Geary Hall in the East Halls dorms on campus.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 863-1111 or to submit a tip through Centre County Crimestoppers at tip@centrecountycrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the department’s website at www.police.psu.edu/psu-police/report-crime.cfm.

Police also reminded students and others to report any suspicious actions, and that “acts of hate and intolerance are not acceptable and should be reported and investigated immediately.”
