Centre Hall woman cuts brother’s throat, police say

An argument between brother and sister allegedly turned violent, according to state police at Rockview.

Shannon Hillard’s brother told police, according to an affidavit, that his sister was drinking, “causing a disturbance” and was mad that he did not get pizza and beer. Police say she told him, “If I have to spend money on a cab, I will cut your neck.”

Hillard’s brother told police that she then grabbed a piece of broken glass and cut his throat.

When a state trooper arrested and frisked her, Hillard allegedly tried to pull away. Police said she also spit at a trooper when she was escorted out of the house and into a patrol car.

She tried to get out of the vehicle after being seated, and troopers had to pull her back inside twice, according to the affidavit.

The alleged altercation occurred at 7:15 p.m. Monday in Centre Hall. Hillard was charged with misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor resisting arrest and harassment, a summary offense.
