Bellefonte police arrested a man who they say was showing a handgun to people in public.
The allegations were reported to police at 12:05 p.m. Thursday.
“The man was thought to be distraught and possibly dangerous at the time of the incident,” police said in a release.
The man, who was not identified in the release, was reportedly in Talleyrand Park. Police searched the area and arrested the man near the 100 block of West High Street. Police also located a gun in the area.

Charges are pending, police said.
