A Huntingdon County woman was taken into custody Thursday and faces felony charges of recklessly endangering the welfare of children.
According to state police at Huntingdon, Tricia Vaughan, 39, is alleged to have abused medications and illegal drugs while the caregiver for five minors. The minors, two boys and three girls, are between 6 and 17 years old.
The children were removed from “deplorable” conditions at the Hartslog Valley Court Circle residence in Porter Township on Aug. 13, police said, and are with family and friends with the aid of Huntingdon County Children and Youth Services.
Vaughan was arraigned before District Judge Douglas Gummo, according to court documents, and charged with five felony counts of endangering the welfare of children. Bail was set at $25,000.

Vaughan remains incarcerated at Huntingdon County prison, documents said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
