Over the years, Paul Frankhouser’s blue wig and Penn State Hummer have made him an icon around Beaver Stadium.
Each week, he sets up a “Hummer-based tailgate” in his reserved north endzone location, welcoming fans of both PSU and the opposing team, “always with good sportsmanship in mind,” he said.
His fanaticism does not stop in State College. He often travels from his Mount Nittany home, or “PSU shrine,” as he calls it, to attend away games.
“Even at eight miles per gallon, I proudly drive the Hummer dressed as ‘Blue Hair’ and playing the PSU fight song throughout the Big 10 home cities,” he said.
