may reach settlement
The longtime Penn State fencing coach suing the university after being dismissed in 2013 may be moving toward a settlement.
On May 29, U.S. District Judge Gene E.K. Pratter ordered Emmanuil Kaidanov’s case referred to U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy Rice “to pursue the potential for pretrial resolution.”

A settlement conference in the case will be held June 17 in Philadelphia.
Failing a resolution, Kaidanov’s case will move forward toward a trial no earlier than January.
