Fencing coach may reach settlement in lawsuit with Penn State

Fencing coach, PSU

may reach settlement

The longtime Penn State fencing coach suing the university after being dismissed in 2013 may be moving toward a settlement.

On May 29, U.S. District Judge Gene E.K. Pratter ordered Emmanuil Kaidanov’s case referred to U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy Rice “to pursue the potential for pretrial resolution.”

A settlement conference in the case will be held June 17 in Philadelphia.

Failing a resolution, Kaidanov’s case will move forward toward a trial no earlier than January.
