Jeffrey Goldsmith, a candidate for one of the open alumni seats on the Penn State board of trustees, will be holding a meet-and-greet at the State College Panera Bread, private room, at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Goldsmith, a Harrisburg resident, will be in town for the drawing of lots for ballot position, later that day.
Goldsmith has outlined five main issues that he feels the board of trustees must implement: an apology to the Paterno family; structural reform of the board; reforming the board’s rules of operation to allow board members to dissent publicly when they disagree with board actions; enactment of policies to avoid conflicts of interest on the part of board members; working to ensure access to a high quality education for all students.
