Is this U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter's finale?
Is this, the Democratic primary, the one that will send Specter home after five terms?
It looks like it may happen. The latest Franklin & Marshall Poll shows a race tightening ever so close, and there's still time before the May 18 primary.
Specter has won the close ones over the years, but those were in GOP primaries and in general elections as a Republican with loyal followers.
Now he's a Democrat, trying to save his seat, and facing relentless Joe Sestak.
Democrats haven't known Specter long enough to be loyal. And it all will come down, as Democratic primaries do, to the Philly turnout.
The winner will face Republican Pat Toomey in a year when voters are angry. Toomey may be favored. Will Specter be in the race at all?
