Already today, we have two young people who got into trouble last year at Penn State wanting us to remove their names from the stories, so they don't have problems later with employers.
Two in just three hours.
Yes, they got into trouble, for a drinking offense and an assault. That's unfortunate.
But the historical record does not disappear, as was learned over the summer in our First Amendment case that drew national attention.
We don't remove stories to suit someone. We do update where necessary, if a case hadn't been updated.
History is not rewritten, and I'm sure a few more young people are going to learn that this year. I hope their lawyers represent the First Amendment properly when they have conversations with them.
