Penn State coach Ed DeChellis says he's looked at other teams' RPI, strength of schedule and top 50 wins and "they don't have what we have."
I heard a broadcast comment that he really doesn't know what it takes to get in the NCAA tournament anymore, since the rules keep changing.
Say what? Can somebody go over the coach's early season losses and the loss to Maine at home with him? Or the two losses to Michigan this season.
Penn State is 9-9 in the Big Ten, good but not great, and its accompishments do not stand out to get to the dance unless they go far or win the Big Ten tourney.
It's that simple.
I hope they do make it. I still remember like yesterday the win over North Carolina in New Orleans to get to the Sweet Sixteen. It was worth the trip.
