Ten years ago, the Nittany Lions beat Providence and North Carolina in New Orleans to advance to Atlanta. It was a hoops fan's dream.
We decided after watching the selection show and seeing Penn State get a bid that we would go to New Orleans. Why? Why not, this might never happen again, we thought.
It was cool to see the Lions beat Providence and then receive tickets for the next game from Coach Jerry Dunn in the team hotel the next day.

It was a magical win over the Tar Heels the next day and a Sweet Sixteen berth for a team that came together.
We drove to Atlanta to see Penn State lose to Temple, completing that ride 10 years ago.
March Madness brings its unique drama, and the committee decided that a PSU-Temple repeat would be the way to go and send them west. The Lions have a shot to redeem themselves and then try for an upset to land in the Sweet Sixteen again.
