Series brings papers together

I hope you're enjoying and getting a lot our of our legislative staffing series.

A reader sent me this email yesterday, which I shared with staffers who've written the stories. I hope other readers feel this way:

"Sir, I think your current series on the legislators and the legislature is simply outstanding. Keep up the good work!"
Our local stories wind up Friday with a look at Sen. John Wozniak's staffing.
Coming Sunday is the second statewide installment of the series. Another will be published on Easter Sunday.
This series is the first statewide project in the national AP-APME Broken Budgets initiative, which is running all year and highlighing fiscal challenges faced by governments.
The CDT and 32 Pennsylvania newspapers worked with the Associated Press on this series, and I want to salute AP reporter Mark Scolforo in Harrisburg and AP Pennsylvania news editor Matt Moore for making it happen and working so well with members.
We are a great state for strong newspapers, and we took a great leap with this project to work more closely together.
The AP-APME Broken Budgets initiative is featured on APME's Web site, www.apme.com, if you're interested in more. I'm proud to work on it.
