Our View | Thumbs down

Thumbs down: To James Robert Scholl, of State College, sentenced to 16 to 32 years in jail for pulling a gun on three police officers during a domestic dispute in September 2013. Scholl told the court he “wanted to make a statement.” He did, a stupid and dangerous one.

Thumbs down: To Ridwan Kazeem, ordered to pay a $100 fine and spend two days in jail for a disturbance at a downtown State College bar. Police said they were called to the tavern when Kazeem got into an argument with staff and pulled out a pipe shaped like an ax.

Thumbs down: To Donald L. Corbin, of Duncansville, now infamous after police said he was caught on surveillance tape taking women’s underwear from a dryer at a State College apartment building. Corbin faces various charges, not to mention a ton of embarrassment.
