Our View | Thumbs for Saturday

Thumbs up: To the students who alerted Penn State police to Yik Yak posts Sunday night threatening a shooting at the HUB on Monday — and to the police and the local FBI for their quick response in apprehending a suspect in what turned out to be a prank.

Thumbs down: To the driver whose vehicle became airborne after speeding along Beaver Avenue, crashing into a power pole and closing Beaver for several hours Friday morning. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was suspected of DUI, police said.

Thumbs up: To the town-gown collaboration that resulted in the completion of the Musser Gap greenway linking the Musser Gap trail and Whitehall Road. Penn State and ClearWater Conservancey teamed to build the half-mile path for cyclists and hikers.
