Our View | Thumbs for Tuesday

Thumbs up: To those who work to ensure not only our constitutional right to vote, but who volunteer their time on Election Day — from setting up the machines to manning the polling stations and tallying the ballots. Shout out of thanks to you all!

Thumbs down: To the Maryland football players who refused to shake hands with Penn State players prior to the kickoff of Saturday’s game at Beaver Stadium. Fortunately, Terapins coach Randy Edsall showed a little class by apologizing after the game.

Thumbs up: To Terri Lukens-Gable, of State College, who finally got to run the TCS New York City Marathon after losing out in the entrance lottery three times. She finished in 5 hours, 18 minutes, 40 seconds with a great attitude: “I took my time. ... I was going to enjoy every step.”
