In math class the teacher would say “show your work.” Former state Senator and convict Bob Mellow won an appeal to have his pension reinstated. Mellow was in the leadership in his caucus and took home more pay than a rank-and-file senator, around 100 grand a year at the time his legal problems ended his 40 year run in the state Senate. According to news reports, Mellow is due to receive nearly a quarter million dollars a year adjusted for inflation for the rest of his life. Now that is some magic math.
