It was nice knowing you, State College

I have been living in the State College area for more than 30 years now. I have seen State College grow, yet it has always managed to retain that small town feel to it. That State College is gone. We now have several high rise monstrosities in town ruining that feeling and we are going to get another, all in the name of progress. What long time State College businesses will be forced to leave downtown or close altogether? How much more traffic will be funneled down Beaver Avenue and College Avenue? How much more crowded will the downtown become?

Downtown is becoming less small town and more big city. Perhaps State College should pause and decide what kind of town they want to be.
