Libraries all over the state seem to have financial problems.
Maybe it is time for our residents to realize that they are the ones who benefit most from the libraries and that it shouldn’t always be up to state and local government to fund them.
I suggest to affluent seniors with nice pensions like me that they estimate how much they would pay in local taxes on consulting income, dividends and capital gains, if municipalities were allowed to tax them like the state does, and then send a check to the library or the food bank.
