When is a promise not a promise? When it is a contract.
This is what I see in Bill O’Brien’s decision to leave Penn State.
It is true that he came here at a terrible time in Penn State’s history. He did a very good job. He is a very talented coach. He was fun to have a ‘Q & A” with during Quarterback Club luncheons.
But he made promises; that is what a contract is, or that is what it is supposed to be.

I am very disappointed that he has let down the players, the recruits, the fans, the whole Penn State community.
I guess he couldn’t give us more time to recover.
I am sorry we were just a layover on the NFL train.
