Perhaps many readers have forgotten about former Sen. Bob Jubelirer’s middle-of-the-night vote in July 2005 to raise his and all other legislators’ and judges’ salaries, avoiding the voters’ scrutiny. But I have not forgotten.
As president pro tempore of the state Senate, he was in charge of this and was voted out of office in the next election.
Because of this less-than-stellar act, I will not vote for him in this trustee election. I am confused as to how this man could receive the endorsement of two alumni groups.
His actions at that time certainly don’t appear to be those of someone I can trust to bring more openness to the Penn State board of trustees, and this endorsement makes me question all the other recommendations of the various alumni groups.
