The silent vigil at Boalsburg’s Memorial Day event by protesters of Gov. Corbett’s opening of our state parks and forests was tasteful and honorable. It honored our soldiers who fought for our lands and democracy.
Our state forests and parks are precious. In no way should they be despoiled by industrialization.
The Pennsylvania Constitution guarantees our right to clean air and pure water, both now and for future generations. Fracking pollutes the air and abuses our water resources.
It is shameful to despoil our common heritage for the gains of a few corporate entities.
The expressions of gratitude for our courage to silently protest were, and continue to be, greatly appreciated.
