The chase for the Bellefonte Borough Council seat is over. My hope that the Bellefonte borough power structure would be defeated did not happen. Our less-than-fine leader found another yes person to vote on his side.
Why do I call him a “less-than-fine leader?” Simply because I was on the save the Garman side! Somehow he managed to get the guts to read one of my newsletters and found I had good ideas on developing the downtown areas as destinations. As he said in his email, which I saved, “You have great ideas but I cannot help you since I’m on the other side.” Since when is management done only by people who are on the same side?
Why did he go all out to defeat the lady that came in second? That too is simple! That is my daughter, and he knows that she also is a “save Bellefonte” person.
He also took one of his backers who was on council and is paying her $40,000 per year to develop one of my programs, which is not something one person could do. I have the free manpower to develop the program but don’t have enough cash to develop the program as of yet. If I had the $40,000, I first would have bought metal markers for our historical sites and equipment to shuttle sightseers around.
