I was floored when I read the letter from Linda Lochbaum that said Gov. Tom Corbett did not cut funding for education (“Corbett’s actions misjudged,” Tuesday).
I was working in a school system when he was elected. Corbett’s budget cut so much money from the district that we were all asked how we could help.
Buying our own classroom supplies was one way. Another was to reduce salaries. They asked how many of us were eligible to retire — so my career was cut short by Corbett’s cuts to education that Lochbaum claims never happened.
I agree with her that the voters need accurate information. Unfortunately, she had none to offer.
