Letter to the editor: Vote for Taylor is vote for change

Approval ratings for Congress are in the single digits. Less than 10 percent of Americans think their representatives and senators are successfully doing the job they were elected to do.

And yet incumbents in Congress running for re-election almost always win. Again and again.

We don’t approve of the job Congress is doing, we say we want change, but we keep re-electing the same people. What’s wrong with this picture?

It is said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

This year, voters in our 5th Congressional District have an excellent opportunity to break this cycle. We can send a message to Congress and the country that we’ve had enough, that we really do want different results.

Kerith Strano Taylor is the challenger we need and deserve to help change the congressional status quo. She is a Penn State graduate and she interned with former U.S. Rep. Bill Clinger in Washington.

She is a mother of two children and a respected attorney who was twice elected president of her school board in Brookville. She understands the job is to represent us, the people, and not corporations. She is fearless and would not kowtow to the political leaders.

We need and deserve her voice, her intelligence and her leadership in Congress.

If we really want to change things in Washington, we can start here. We can start now. On Nov. 4 we can vote for Taylor for Congress.
