The unsportsmanlike conduct and bad manners exhibited by University of Maryland football players prior to the kickoff of the Maryland-Penn State game is disturbing.
It reflects not only on the character of the Maryland players and their coach but also on the University of Maryland, the game officials (for not ejecting the Maryland player who was the primary antagonist), the place of college football in the university structure nationally and, I dare say, the stage to which our culture has declined.
