We need to focus on solutions to our economic problems.
The last sentence of the Washington Post editorial “Middle incomes falling behind” (CDT, Tuesday) urges the government and the private sector to find new ways to stimulate economic growth in order to help the middle class.
This is important but very far off.
Right here in Centre County, there are changes residents can make today to solve our local economic problems.
Nov. 29 is Small Business Saturday. Please use this day to shop local and shop small, because it’s fun and helps the local economy.
Small businesses and entrepreneurs have created 67 percent of all net new jobs coming out of the recession. Think of the additional jobs we would have in Centre County if we shopped local and shopped small every day of the year.
On the entrepreneurial front, there are more than 50 events in Centre County during Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 16-21.
