I just turned on the news and saw President Eric Barron with his hands raised as he joined the protest. As a proud alum of Penn State, Class of 1965, this is a major embarrassment to our university.
With everything still swirling with the Jerry Sandusky situation, our officials should not be front and center in controversial and politically driven events. In other words, President Barron, keep your hands down and, more importantly, stay out of sight. Your job is to run the university and report to the board of trustees.
So far, you have hired an athletic director who was fired from her previous job. The Jameis Winston incident at Florida State University is finally getting some steam after being covered up during your watch at FSU. I hope for Penn State, not yours, that you had no involvement in this apparent coverup. And the NCAA stated that we had a football problem? Are you kidding me?
In our alma mater, there is a line that reads “may no act of ours bring shame.” President Barron, in my opinion, you have shamed our great university and I hope you step down before you bring more harm to the university.
