The time has come for the NCAA and the other faceless cowards to come forward and establish what they never had against Joe Paterno and the Penn State football program: proof.
The NCAA, the Penn State board of trustees, the pundits and the naysayers finally cannot just rely on media-induced hearsay and go with the results of the court of public opinion, which resulted with many ill-informed people.
Any court proceeding dictates proof is created by facts, and the so-called facts that were nothing more than innuendo were carefully orchestrated, then presented to the media by certain individuals, and the information was written in such a way that the gullible public bought it as evidence. If it was, curiously no one ever asked why it wasn’t produced as evidence for criminal charges.
Even if this probable cause, which is a reasonable belief based on available facts, could have been established, criminal charges should have been filed or someone in authority should have stated that this was the case. But the reverse was done by authority figures and was documented in the press.
Now that this is all being reversed, the rats are trying to cling to the sinking ship’s mast, but that will also go under, and they will drown.
