The 113th Congress, with the lowest approval rating in history and one of the least productive, has ended its session.
But in the new Congress, our Reps. Glenn Thompson and Bill Shuster seem eager to show that they and their colleagues can do even worse. In response to the “do-nothing” Congress, President Barack Obama issued executive orders addressing immigration after Congress simply refused to act.
The new Congress is “acting” by trying to negate those orders, leaving the issue of immigration with no positive action. Shuster and Thompson also voted to weaken the Dodd-Frank Act, passed because of the irresponsible actions of banks and other lending institutions, causing the great financial crisis of the early 2000s.
Looks like a great start to the 114th Congress.
