Letter to the editor: Thompson’s got chutzpah

Chutzpah, thy name is Rep. Glenn Thompson. On March 7, Thompson bashed President Obama in these pages for vetoing the Keystone XL pipeline. Obama’s veto will cost our country $2 billion and 40,000 jobs.

Yet just four days earlier, Thompson voted to fund Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty.

Obama’s, and now Thompson’s, amnesty will cost our country $10 billion over 10 years in earned income tax credits to the illegal aliens, along with billions of dollars more in welfare and public services. The amnesty will act as a magnet for more job stealing invaders. It will be a boon to the cheap labor lobby by increasing the labor supply in a tight job market, at the expense of American citizens.

American Action Network, a super PAC closely tied to Jeb Bush, has promised to reward Thompson’s betrayal of his constituents and his oath of office by spending millions on Thompson’s re-election.

One hopes that a conservative patriot will emerge soon to become the 5th District’s Dave Brat against our Eric Cantor.
