I have been following the debate on the proposals of Gov. Tom Wolf to significantly increase the tax burden on the residents of Pennsylvania.
The dramatic increase in the state income tax and the broadening of the sales tax are necessary, he says, to increase revenue to the state to fund “important” services. I am reminded of a famous quote attributed to Vladimir Lenin, one of the darlings of the left: “The way to crush the bourgeoisie (middle class) is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.”
The lie is that Wolf and the so-called progressive left talk about helping the middle class and they do the exact opposite.
During the campaign, Wolf’s commercials featured his magnanimity to the employees of the company he owns. I was struck by his facial expression in the commercials. It was that of a beneficent plantation owner.
