Centre Gives Letter to the Editor: State Theatre

Why does The State Theatre exist? What do we do?

The State Theatre exists because Centre County loves to enjoy local arts and culture.

We are in the business of making people happy. We can do this thanks to the support we receive from ticket buyers and people who support us with memberships, direct gifts, volunteering and in other ways.

We love to give back to the community through ticket giveaways to local and national charities. In the past year we’ve given to many organizations, including the American Heart Association, the food bank, high schools and Penn State Athletes in Action, an anti-bullying campaign run by the Women’s Resource Center.

Centre Gives is May 5-6. It is an opportune time to help strengthen our ability to offer local productions featuring your neighbors and local children, live music and things like world-class opera, ballet, and live theater HD simulcasts from around the world.

The more support we receive, the better we are able to host groups like State College Community Theatre, Centre Dance and Fuse Productions.

Please think of us next Tuesday and Wednesday. We can’t wait to see you next time you are here. Come celebrate the joy of art and culture with us sometime soon.
