Letter to the editor: Vote Sampsel for sheriff

I encourage you to vote for Bryan Sampsel for Centre County sheriff.

Sampsel is a lifelong resident of Centre County and a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He has a wealth of experience in law enforcement and has been a deputy sheriff in the Centre County Sheriff’s Office for the past 12 years. He is deeply familiar with the daily operations and functions of the office. He is a certified firearms instructor and a certified active shooter instructor as well as a current office field training officer. He has the full support from current Sheriff Denny Nau, which will ensure a smooth transition into the office.

If elected, he is committed to running a professional and ethical office. He will be fully engaged in daily operations and open to new ideas from the office staff, judges, court system staff, and local law enforcement with the goal of maintaining a high level of service and support to the county and its residents.

I’ve known him for more than 10 years and have consistently found him to be an individual of the highest integrity and personal accountability. On May 19, I urge you to visit your local polling place and join me in voting for Bryan Sampsel for Centre County sheriff.
