Letter to the editor: Recall parts not available?

A week ago I learned that my car was on the list for air bag part replacement, and the part was ordered by my dealer.

When I called today to inquire about the part, I was told that the dealer had not received it yet because the parts manufacturer would only allow each dealer to replace one of these parts a week.

Dealers can order the parts required to make the repairs for their customers, but the parts manufacturer will only release one part a week to each dealership. I was told the carmaker was powerless in this situation, which I think means that they cannot service their customers in a timely manner.

Another example of corporate greed and irresponsibility?
