I give accolades to U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Howard Township, and his staff for their quick action that helped soldiers and veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
On May 25, I was made aware that the Riverview Hospital just outside of Fort Drum, N.Y., was to be closed.
This hospital offers a very effective treatment for service members suffering from PTSD.
I immediately turned to Thompson who has consistently showed his support for our servicemembers and veterans.

On May 30, Thompson’s office called me to tell me that the decision had been reversed and the Riverview Hospital’s treatment for PTSD would remain open and funded for the foreseeable future; an incredible win for service members, veterans and their families.
So, kudos to Thompson and all of his staff. On behalf of myself, a U.S. Army active-duty veteran, and my brothers and sisters in arms, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for hearing our pleas and coming to our aid in our hour of need.
