In regard to the recent Planned Parenthood news, it seems that we base a significant amount of moral response upon the level of disgust we feel toward something. This is troubling.
Do I rationalize best when reacting emotionally? If I make poorer decisions based on my emotional reactions, might not politicians and our leaders also fall under the same spell?
Being for Planned Parenthood does not mean I am against babies, yet that might be how such a debate is framed in order to create a category of evil in which to dismiss and silence. Emotional reaction demands it. Are we better than that?
