Letter to the editor: Crossword is too easy

Nothing gets your brain working better than a good crossword puzzle. Not only does one feel a great sense of accomplishment for having conquered a challenging puzzle, but studies suggest word puzzles benefit brain health as well and even help stave off Alzheimer’s.

Unfortunately there is simply nothing puzzling or challenging about the Universal Crossword. These puzzles are consistently elementary and simply a waste of ink.

Listen… can you hear it? That’s the sound of brains beginning to shrivel! Please bring back the L.A. Times crossword before it’s too late.
